Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, surgery, and dental procedures.
• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia patients safely and accurately.
• Perform laboratory procedures, collect and process samples, and run in-house diagnostic tests.
• Prepare, dispense, and manage medications in accordance with veterinary regulations and clinic protocols.
• Position patients for radiographs and assist with imaging procedures.
• Provide skilled nursing care, including patient monitoring, treatment administration, and supportive care.
• Maintain accurate, detailed medical records in the practice management software.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient care, medications, discharge instructions, and follow-up needs.
• Support Fear-Free handling and low-stress patient care techniques whenever possible.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and stock levels in treatment, surgery, dental, and laboratory areas.
• Collaborate closely with veterinarians, assistants, and client service staff to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credential required.
• Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery.
• Experience with laboratory procedures, pharmacy and medication management, radiology, surgical assistance, dental procedures, and nursing/patient care.
• Experience in maintaining accurate medical records using veterinary software.
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and efficient in fast-paced or stressful situations.
• Strong multitasking, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to providing exceptional client service.
• Interest in holistic veterinary medicine, or willingness to learn about holistic treatment modalities and patient support.

Position Details

We are seeking a team member who is available to work 9–10-hour shifts on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with some Mondays and Fridays mixed in.

Qualifications:

Ability to support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in the care and treatment of patients, including:

• Providing safe, low-stress, and Fear Free restraint for both cooperative and fearful patients during examinations, blood draws, diagnostics, and treatments
• Collecting blood samples
• Performing nail trims
• Assisting with radiographs and diagnostic procedures
• Processing laboratory samples and running in-house laboratory tests
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with safely transporting and positioning patients.

Strong technical, organizational, and multitasking skills, with the ability to maintain accurate and detailed medical records using veterinary electronic health record software.

Ability to assist with front desk and client service responsibilities, including:

• Answering phone calls, text messages, and emails
• Scheduling appointments
• Obtaining patient medical records from referring and primary care clinics
• Processing client transactions and running end-of-day reports

Responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked hospital environment through routine cleaning, sanitizing, and inventory management.

Willingness to assist with a variety of administrative and operational tasks to support clinic efficiency.
