Frequently Asked Questions
What species do you see?
We provide veterinary care for dogs and cats only. We are not currently accepting new equine clients.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, we are currently welcoming new canine and feline patients. Appointment availability may vary. Please call (608) 432-2522 to schedule an appointment today!
Do you allow walk-ins?
No. We see patients by appointment only to ensure each visit receives the adequate time and attention it deserves.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring:
- Any relevant medical records
- A list of current medications or supplements
- A picture OR the bag of your pet’s current diet/food
- Any questions or concerns you’d like to discuss
Can I stay with my pet during the appointment?
Yes. We encourage pet owners to be involved in their pet’s care and present during visits whenever possible. Most care is provided in the exam room, though occasionally a procedure may be performed elsewhere for safety or efficiency.
Do you offer urgent or emergency care?
We do not provide 24-hour emergency services. If your pet is experiencing an emergency, we recommend contacting a local emergency veterinary hospital.
Are your vaccines mercury-free?
Yes, we are committed to your pet's safety and well-being. All vaccines we administer are mercury-free. We use only high-quality, modern vaccine formulations that meet the highest safety standards.
Our vaccines contain no thimerosal (a mercury-based preservative) and are specifically chosen to provide optimal protection while minimizing any potential risks.
Additionally, our vaccines do not contain adjuvants, which are substances sometimes added to enhance immune response. This means your pet receives a cleaner, more natural vaccine formulation.
We stay current with the latest veterinary research and only use vaccines that have been thoroughly tested and approved for safety and efficacy.
If you have any concerns about vaccine ingredients or your pet's specific health needs, we encourage you to discuss this with our veterinarian during your appointment.
Do you offer cat-specific rabies vaccines?
Yes! We are proud to offer cat-specific rabies vaccines that are specially formulated for feline patients. These vaccines are designed with cats' unique immune systems and health needs in mind.
Why cat-specific matters:
Our cat-specific rabies vaccine is formulated as a cat-sized dose — not a one-size-fits-all giant dog-sized dose. Just like you wouldn't give your cat a dog's medication, your feline friend deserves a vaccine tailored to their smaller body and unique physiology. This means your cat receives the right amount of protection without unnecessary excess.
Benefits for cat owners:
- Better tolerability: Cats typically respond better to vaccines designed for their species, resulting in fewer post-vaccination complications
- Peace of mind: Knowing your cat is protected with a vaccine tailored to their needs
Rabies vaccination is essential for all cats, whether indoor or outdoor. Our cat-specific rabies vaccine provides the protection your feline companion needs while prioritizing their comfort and safety. Ask our veterinarian about which rabies vaccine option is best for your cat during your next visit.
